BoomBoom VS Lodgify

Lodgify was built for a handful of keys.
Boom was built for a hundred.

Lodgify's own FAQ says who it is for: one property, or thirty. Four plans, three add-ons, and an AI Co-Host in beta that suggests and waits for you. Boom starts where that ladder ends — a manager's PMS where owner accounting, operations and an AI that acts are the product, not the top rung.

There is a particular afternoon most property managers remember. It is the one where a tool that had been perfectly good for years stopped being enough, and nothing about the tool had changed. You had.

Lodgify is a very good version of that tool. It is a website builder that grew a channel manager, then an inbox, then a plan ladder — Basic, Starter, Professional, Ultimate — and it is honest about who it serves. Its own pricing FAQ says so: “whether you have one property or 30+.” Its AI Co-Host page says so twice more: “the most powerful AI assistant for independent hosts.”

That is not a criticism. It is a design brief, and Lodgify has executed it well enough to be the first PMS thousands of hosts ever pay for.

A host manages properties. A manager manages owners, staff, contractors, statements and a reputation. The software for one is not the software for the other.

Look at where the manager's features sit on Lodgify's ladder. Task management, check-in automation, owner payments and statements, guest invoices, advanced analytics, the guest app — every one of them appears for the first time on Ultimate, the top plan. Dynamic pricing, smart locks and damage protection are not on the ladder at all; they are add-ons on top of it.

This page is not a claim that Lodgify cannot do these things. Most of them it can, on the right rung. That is why the table below says Ultimate plan or Add-on rather than a red cross.

But a top rung is still a rung. Trust accounting is not on it. An AI that finishes the guest conversation, opens the task and posts the charge to an owner statement is not on it — Lodgify's Co-Host, by its own description, “suggests. You decide.” Boom was built from the first line for the operator who has owners to answer to, and it put the AI inside the business rather than on top of a plan.

Here is the comparison. Anything marked Ultimate plan or Add-on comes from Lodgify's own pricing page, checked in September 2026 and listed at the end of this article.

Read the AI rows first. Then read which rung the rest is on.

Lodgify has AI: an inbox that drafts, and a Co-Host in beta that lines up suggestions for you to approve. Boom's AI finishes the job. The rest of the table asks a manager's question: is it there, is it on the top plan, or is it sold separately?

Assistive means the AI produces something a person then reviews, sends or acts on — which is how Lodgify describes its AI-powered inbox. Beta is Lodgify's own label for AI Co-Host, which is on a waitlist and, in its own words, “suggests. You decide.” Ultimate plan marks capabilities that Lodgify's pricing page lists for the first time on its top plan; Add-on marks the three tools it sells on top of any plan. Where a capability does not appear on the pricing page at all we say that, rather than assert it does not exist. Checked September 2026 — see sources.
Every capability in the Boom column is part of the platform or one of the thirteen Boom Apps — which also run on top of Lodgify if you are not ready to move. See how.

Read the coral pills down the Lodgify column and a pattern appears. They cluster in one place: operations, owners and finance — the rows a manager lives in. That is exactly where a host's tool would put its top plan, because a host reaches those rows last.

A manager reaches them first. Owner statements are not an advanced feature when you have owners. So the useful question is not whether Lodgify can climb to them. It is what the climb costs, and what is still missing at the top.

02The ladder

Four rungs up, the manager's features begin.

Lodgify's plan ladder is a sensible way to sell software to hosts: pay for what you use, climb when you grow. For a manager, the climb is the whole business. You do not want task management, owner statements and analytics when you are large. You want them on day one, because your owners do.

On Lodgify
Basic, Starter, Professional, Ultimate — then dynamic pricing, locks and protection on top. The manager's toolkit is the top rung plus the add-ons.

03A Co-Host that asks. An AI that acts.

“You approve, it executes” is a promise to a host, not to a manager.

Lodgify's AI Co-Host is the most interesting thing on its roadmap, and it is worth reading its page carefully. It watches your bookings, lines up a suggested action, and then — its words — “nothing is sent, changed, or scheduled until you say so.”

For a host with three villas, that is exactly right. Approving a handful of suggestions a day is the job. For a manager with eighty, an AI that queues eighty approvals has not removed the work. It has reformatted it.

Boom's AI was built to finish. It answers the guest in their language, opens the task for the cleaner, makes the late-checkout offer, takes the payment and posts it to the owner's statement — and tells you what it did, with every action logged and reversible.

A co-host
Surfaces what needs you, drafts the action, and waits. The judgement stays with one person — which works until there is more than one person.
An agentic manager
Has the guest, the stay, the task, the cost and the owner in one model, so it can act on all of them — in co-pilot mode until you trust it, then on its own.
✓Up to 90% of routine guest, owner and team communication handled end to end
✓40+ languages, day and night — no night shift, no follow-the-sun rota
✓Every automated action attributed, logged and reversible
Both products can license the same models. The difference is that Boom's model owns the ledger it is writing to.

04What a host's tool costs a manager

The subscription is the cheap part. The gaps are the expensive part.

Lodgify's prices are modest and its booking fee is zero; we are not going to pretend otherwise. What a manager pays for is everything the ladder does not reach. Here is what that looks like on a 30-property portfolio managed for owners:

The owner month-end, by hand

Owner statements arrive on Lodgify's top plan; trust accounting does not arrive at all. So someone reconciles payouts, expenses and owner balances every month, for every owner:

Owners30
Statement, reconciliation & queries / owner45 min
Hours / month22.5 hrs
Bookkeeper cost$35 / hr
Year-end & trust reconciliation+40 hrs / yr
Finance hours a year$10,850 / year

The inbox, answered by people

Sixty guest messages a property a month, four minutes each — the work Boom's AI resolves without a draft waiting for a human:

Monthly guest messages1,800
Resolved by AI on Boom70%
Time per message4 min
Team hours lost / month84 hrs
Blended team cost$25 / hr
Capacity you're paying for anyway$25,200 / year
Around $36,000 a year of work the software could be doing — on a portfolio whose Lodgify bill is a fraction of that. That is the shape of the trade: a cheaper tool, and a more expensive month.
05What the ladder cannot see

The moment a host's tool meets an owner.

Every item below is ordinary on a portfolio you manage for other people, and invisible to a product designed for someone who owns what they host. None of them show up on an invoice. All of them show up in your week.

Boom connects the whole chain, so the owner's question is answered before the owner asks it.

Five things a host never has to do
An owner asks why March paid less than Februaryand the answer lives in three spreadsheets
A contractor invoice for a boilerthat has to reach the right owner's statement, not yours
A damage claim on an owner's propertywhere the owner, not you, needs the outcome
A cleaner who now serves forty unitsand needs a schedule, not a message
A trust account the regulator wants reconciledwhich the ladder does not reach on any rung
Boom connects the chainguest → stay → property → task → contractor → cost → owner → statement
06Meet BAM

A co-host waits for a decision. BAM brings you the ones that matter.

BAM is Boom's Business Agentic Manager — part of the platform, not a beta you join a waitlist for. It watches conversations, bookings, operations, maintenance, finance and owner activity all at once, and brings you the next thing to do.

On a small portfolio, one person can hold the whole business in their head. BAM is what holds it when the portfolio is bigger than a head.

08The honest verdict

There is a version of this decision where Lodgify is the right answer.

A fair number of the people reading this page should stay where they are, and we would rather say so than sell them a platform they do not need yet. Lodgify is excellent at the job it was designed for.

Stay on Lodgify if

You are a host, and you like being one

  • You own what you host, with a handful of properties and no owners to report to — the plan ladder was drawn for exactly you, and the lower rungs are genuinely good value.
  • The direct booking website is your priority. Lodgify started as a website builder, and its no-code site and booking widget remain among the best in the category.
  • You want to approve every AI action yourself, and you have the hours to do it. The Co-Host's “you decide” model is a feature at that scale, not a limit.
  • You are price-sensitive above all, and a zero booking fee on a modest subscription matters more than what the subscription leaves out.
Move to Boom if

You manage properties for other people

  • You have owners, which means statements, trust accounting and questions about March — and you want them answered by the system, not by a spreadsheet.
  • You want AI that closes the loop — answers the guest, opens the task, makes the offer, posts to the books — rather than a co-host that queues approvals for you.
  • You are past thirty properties or heading there, and you want a platform whose floor is the top of the ladder, with nothing left to unlock.
  • You want an agentic manager reading across every part of the operation at once, because the operation is now bigger than one person's attention.
  • You would rather have onboarding done with a dedicated team in 1–4 weeks than climb a plan ladder one renewal at a time.
09Switching from Lodgify

Leaving a host's tool is simpler than leaving a marketplace.

Lodgify portfolios are usually tidy: one system, a website, and a channel or three. That makes this one of the quicker migrations we do — the work is in the owners and the finance you are adding, not in what you are leaving.

01

Kickoff & audit

We map your properties, channels, rates and workflows — and, for the first time, your owners, their agreements and how each one gets paid.

02

Data migration

Listings, bookings, guests, rates and history come across. Your Lodgify record moves with you, not away from you.

03

Team training

Hands-on sessions for front desk, operations and finance — including the owner statements and trust accounting your old tool never had.

04

Connect & reconcile

Channels, payments and accounting connect and balance. We verify every calendar and every opening balance together.

05

Go live

You switch with 24/7 support at your side, your direct booking site re-pointed, and the AI running in co-pilot mode until you trust it.

Full onboarding takes 1–4 weeks with a dedicated team. One portfolio migrated 250 properties in a single week.
Switching PMS for 250 properties is not easy, but Boom's support team were there 24/7, even during the weekend, making sure that no opportunities were missed in the switch. In the end, it only took one week! That was really impressive.

Keep Lodgify. Take the AI anyway.

You do not have to migrate to act on any of this. BAM and the Boom Apps run on top of Lodgify through a read-only connection. Nothing moves, nothing changes for your team, and you cancel nothing. It is the quickest way to put an AI that acts on top of a PMS whose AI asks.

Step 01

One read-only connection

The Boom team connects your Lodgify account for you — read-only, no migration, no credit card, nothing changed on the Lodgify side.

Step 02

BAM reads your portfolio

Twenty-four months of reservations, your listings, rates and availability, guest messages and reviews, and your payouts, fees and expenses.

Step 03

You ask it anything

Occupancy, P&L, a guest thread from March, which cleaner keeps running late — answered in seconds, with the rows it used shown.

Step 04

Then you let it act

Write access is granted per action — pricing, messaging, tasks — and every automated action is logged, attributed and reversible.

For a Lodgify operator the usual first two are accounting & statements and task management — the two things the ladder saves for its top rung — running on the plan you already pay for.

Questions we get asked.

Is Boom a Lodgify alternative, or a different kind of product?+
Both. Lodgify is a property management platform for independent hosts — its own pricing FAQ describes it as fitting “one property or 30+” — with a plan ladder that adds task management, owner statements, analytics and a guest app on its top plan, and sells dynamic pricing, smart locks and damage protection as add-ons. Boom is an AI-native PMS built for operators who manage properties for owners: the same capabilities plus trust accounting are part of the platform from the first day, and an agentic manager runs them.
Lodgify has an AI Co-Host. How is Boom's AI different?+
Lodgify's AI Co-Host, currently in beta, watches your account, lines up suggested actions and, in its own words, “suggests. You decide” — nothing is sent, changed or scheduled until you approve it. Its AI-powered inbox drafts replies for you to send. Boom's AI is agentic: it answers routine guest messages end to end in 40+ languages, opens the task, makes the upsell offer, charges it and posts the result to the owner statement, then tells you what it did. You can run it in co-pilot mode at first, but the destination is an AI that finishes the work rather than one that queues it.
I have five properties. Should I move to Boom?+
Probably not yet, unless you manage them for other owners. Lodgify's lower plans are good value for a host with a handful of properties, and its website builder is a real strength. Boom earns its keep when there are owners to report to, staff and contractors to coordinate, and enough volume that an AI which acts — rather than one which asks — changes the shape of your week. If you are heading that way, the fastest first step is to connect BAM read-only on top of Lodgify and see what it finds.
Does Lodgify do owner statements and trust accounting?+
Owner payments, reports and statements are listed on Lodgify's Ultimate plan. Trust accounting does not appear on its pricing page. Boom includes owner statements with a live P&L per owner, trust accounting, and automated accounting on every plan — and the AI posts what it does, such as an upsell it sold, directly to the right owner's statement.
Is Boom more expensive than Lodgify?+
Per property per month, Lodgify's plans are modest and its booking fee is zero, and we would not pretend otherwise. The comparison that matters is the whole month: the Ultimate plan plus the add-ons a manager needs, plus the finance and guest-message hours the software leaves with your team. On a portfolio managed for owners, that is usually where the money is. We will build the comparison against your actual numbers.
How hard is it to migrate from Lodgify to Boom?+
It is one of the simpler migrations we do, because a Lodgify portfolio is usually one system rather than a stack. Listings, bookings, guests, rates and history come across in a structured five-step onboarding — kickoff and audit, data migration, team training, channel and payment validation, then go-live with 24/7 support. Most portfolios are live in 1–4 weeks. The new work is setting up owners and their statements, which we do with you.
Can I keep Lodgify and still use Boom's AI?+
Yes. BAM and the Boom Apps run on top of Lodgify through a read-only connection that the Boom team sets up for you — nothing migrates and nothing changes for your team. BAM reads your reservations, listings, rates, guest messages, reviews and payouts, answers questions about them, and can then be granted write access one action at a time. Many Lodgify operators start with accounting & statements and task management, the two things the plan ladder saves for its top rung.
